Autores, versiones, ediciones... de “Devil came to me”

La canción “Devil came to me” es una de las canciones más conocidas de la banda madrileña Dover. El tema fue grabado por el grupo para ser incluido en su álbum de debut publicado en 1997 y al cual esta canción dio título. Además, este tema también apareció incluido en el CD single “Serenade” (1997), que contó con dos canciones extraídas de dicho álbum.

“Devil came to me” fue incluida en múltiples recopilatorios del momento (“Ácido 1”, “Aterrizaje pop - Gira 97”, “Generation next music” o “Subterfuge 1989-1999 - Décimo aniversario”) y en la banda sonora original de la película “No te fallaré”, en la que también se incluyeron canciones de otros grupos del momento como Australian Blonde, Sexy Sadie y Amaral. Como curiosidad, también se puede mencionar que unos segundos de esta canción, los correspondientes a su estribillo “I lied for you, I lied for you”, fueron incluidos en un anuncio televisivo de la compañía de refrescos The Radical Fruit Company N.Y.

Diez años después de su publicación, la canción “Devil came to me” fue incluida en el doble álbum “2” (2007), un recopilatorio de canciones de Dover en el que la versión rock del tema aparece en el primer CD y una versión dance del mismo está incluida en el segundo CD con el título “Devil came to me 07”.
